Oregon Supported Employment Center of Excellence

The Oregon Supported Employment Center for Excellence (OSECE) is a joint project of Options for Southern Oregon, Lifeworks NW, and the Regional Research Institute of Portland State University. The center will focus on helping to implement and evaluate evidence-based employment services provided to individuals with a severe mental illness. The highly skilled team implementing the project is working toward the common goal of developing a Supported Employment Center for Excellence to assist community mental health providers to implement and sustain Supported Employment as an Evidence Based Practice (EBP).

Oregon Supported Employment Center for Excellence- Calendar of Events


April 30th 1:00 at RRI


Center for Excellence Advisory Board meeting. This meeting is designed to discuss progress on implementation of evidence based supported employment across the state, develop policy for funding, and develop future goals and strategies for the center.


May 7th and 8th Hotel Monaco Portland

Dartmouth/Johnson & Johnson national supported employment conference. 10 states plus the District of Columbia will be represented at a two day event featuring the latest research, strategies and developments in supported employment. Oregon will present the Center for Excellence, speakers Stephaine Taylor Parrish & Bob Nikkel, as well a panel of consumers who successfully utilized supported employment services.


May 29th and 30th Bend St. Charles Medical Center

Open to the public! Portland State University and the Center for Excellence team up to provide an in depth evidence based supported employment training. This training will feature presenters from Vocational Rehabilitation, Work Incentives Network, Center for excellence and others. The training is designed to be interactive and appropriate for a range of provider skill levels.
