Supported Education

Helping individuals with mental illness return to school is part of our nationally recognized Employment Works program.  Options was recently selected by the State of Oregon to be one of three statewide sites to implement evidence-based practices and help our consumers begin or return to postsecondary education.

Individuals in the Supported Education (SEd) program will receive the education and training they need to achieve their own education and recovery goals and/or become gainfully employed in the career of their choice.

Options uses recovery oriented services by which consumers can become empowered, self-determined individuals.  We see participation in postsecondary education as an important avenue for establishing and achieving fulfilling career goals that will enhance their earning potential and provide a better quality of life.

The SEd program helps clients with career planning, academic survival skills, and provides an outreach to services and resources to overcome education barriers.  The program provides increased economic opportunities and self-sufficiency for individuals with psychiatric disabilities in Josephine County.
